2024 Craigs Aspiring Art Prize

I’m thrilled to let you know that one of my paintings has been selected for the 2024 Craigs Aspiring Art Prize in Wanaka. With an overall prize of $10,000, this selected exhibition is becoming a major event on NZ’s art calendar.

The exhibition will run 13th - 15th January at the Holy Family Catholic School in Wanaka. I hope thos of you in the South Island can make it along.

We’ve been asked not to the final piece online before the show opens but you can see some close ups and a progress /process video over on my Instagram and Facebook pages. Look for the images with a pink state house and yellow Ford Cortina.

Turua Gallery Christmas Tiny Show

I am excited to invite you to join me at the opening of Turua Gallery’s Christmas Tiny Show which opens from 5pm on Friday 1st December.

I will be showing two original paintings: Toto, which captures Rangitoto Lighthouse rising majestically in front of the familiar form of Rangitoto Island; and Ebb & Flow, which depicts the southern end of Omaha Beach with Little Barrier Island in the distance and, in the foreground, the bunny-tails that grow in the dunes there.

Featuring a wonderful collection of small works, all approximately 200mm x 200mm, this group show is always really popular and for a good reason! Please pop in from 5pm for festive drinks and a first look. St Heliers Village will be abuzz with festivities on the 1st so I’m sure it will be an enjoyable night.  If you’re not able to make it on the night, don’t worry - you will be able to purchase all works online from 6.30pm on opening night.
